About The Position

The Lead Nurse is responsible for assisting in the coordination of nursing staff in the Heart & Vascular department. The Lead Nurse provides leadership to nurses under the direction of the manager. The Lead Nurse serves as the primary resource nurse. The Lead Nurse assists in determining daily staffing requirements of nurses to provide optimal patient care and maintains positive working relationships with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, required
Current MS State licensure, required
Current CPR/BLS, required
Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Highly organized and detail oriented; particularly in regard to time management
Ability to prioritize key objectives while performing daily tasks as well as the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to effectively utilize applicable electronic systems and programs
