About The Position

As a LEAD REGISTERED NURSE for our First Avenue Specialty Services Michelle Wagner Center, you will have the opportunity to manage and oversee the provision and delivery of all reproductive healthcare services in collaboration with the Center Manager. You will lead and serve as the clinical role model and medical resource for RNs and provide nursing and medical care to patients seeking reproductive health care in the surgical clinics. This exciting opportunity will oversee and maintain responsibility for nursing services in the Specialty Services Center. Dispense all FDA approved birth control methods (including emergency contraception) per Clinician orders and maintain working knowledge of all medications used to educate patients on DA approved birth control methods. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers of all backgrounds and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and some Saturdays, and participate in on-call duty. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current California License
  • 2-3 years of RN experience required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Completed an RN Recovery Room or Surgical Training Program

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification
  • Emergency and/or triage experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage direct reports (Registered Nurses) and oversee health center team effectiveness in partnership with the Center Manager
  • Be responsible for the management of health center registered nurses to ensure the provision of high-quality, cost-effective medical care and excellent customer service.
  • Oversee reporting of near misses/good catches and adverse events, including using QA Reporting system and reporting directly to VP of Clinical Services and Quality as appropriate - leads change in collaboration with Center leadership based on audit results.
  • Oversee training and nurses onboarding, including clinical protocols and processes related to clinical quality, accuracy, appropriate delivery of care, efficiency, productivity, customer service, etc.
  • Provide nursing care that is within Scope of Practice of the California Board of Nursing and follows PPPSW Medical Protocols, Standing Orders, and physician/clinician verbal and written orders.
