Functions as a nutrition expert to patient care areas/service lines, peers, and clinical nutrition operations to ensure the provision of safe, high quality care. Demonstrates quality practice and leadership in an expanded role. Provides professional oversight for developing and mentoring competent and proficient practitioners. Provides oversight to the monitoring and evaluation of regulatory performance improvement process. Demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of Regulatory, Departmental, and Hospital policies and procedures pertaining to nutritional care, including nutrition screening, assessment, and reassessment; food-drug interactions; enteral and parenteral nutrition support; patient education; and documentation.
