About The Position

Provides and directs specialized nutrition care for patients and the community in a quality and timely manner. Functions as a nutrition expert to patient care areas/service lines, peers, and clinical nutrition operations to ensure the provision of safe, high quality care. Demonstrates quality practice and leadership in an expanded role. Provides professional oversight for developing and mentoring competent and proficient practitioners. Provides oversight to the monitoring and evaluation of regulatory performance improvement process. Demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of Regulatory, Departmental, and Hospital policies and procedures pertaining to nutritional care, including nutrition screening, assessment, and reassessment; food-drug interactions; enteral and parenteral nutrition support; patient education; and documentation. Must demonstrate competence in assessing the nutritional requirements of patients across the life-cycle,

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required.
  • Master’s degree is required for those who became registered after 2023.
  • Experience of general supervision of junior colleagues and/or dietetic interns.
  • Experienced specialized practitioner (3+ years of clinical experience); ability to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to developing peers.
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • A Registered Dietitian will oversee Registered Dietitian (RD) Eligible individuals by reviewing and signing off on their notes daily.
  • A Registered Dietitian is responsible for placing orders for RD Eligible individuals when applicable.
