About The Position

The Lead Registered Behavior Technician at Acorn Health engages in a wide range of activities, focused on providing resources, coaching, and mentorship to fellow behavior technicians. This role also participates in and collaborates on the design and implementation of new hire behavior technician trainings, and maintains a client caseload to provide direct therapy services as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in good standing with BACB.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing in the field of ABA.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Enrolled in coursework to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
  • Experience training, coaching, or mentoring colleagues a preferred.
  • Proficiency in Central Reach, Microsoft Office including Teams and Paylocity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct meetings with behavior technicians (mentees) during their initial 6 months of employment to discuss topics such as RBT certification, billing, note taking, data collection, professionalism, interpersonal skills, and ABA knowledge.
  • Hold bi-weekly meetings with BCBA Supervisors to discuss the areas of needs of mentees.
  • Conduct research to support and help problem-solve mentee questions and areas of need.
  • Provide training and support to mentees to allow them to meet Company performance standards.
  • Assist behavior technicians in submitting paperwork and applying for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  • Provide direct ABA therapy services to clients as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete clinical data collection and daily paperwork in a detailed, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of instructional and clinical materials used with clients.
  • Participate in ongoing communication with client’s team.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and Individual Treatment Plans correctly and as directed by supervising BCBA.
  • Respond and manage crisis situations as they relate to clients with potential for physical aggression.
  • Refer clients and parents to appropriate staff members regarding therapy or non-therapy related questions.
  • Attend client meetings as needed while being respectful and sensitive to family dynamics.
  • Maintain certifications and trainings required for the position. (e.g., RBT certification, as crisis training, CPR and First Aid, etc.).
  • Comply with the Acorn Health Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, HIPAA regulations, policies and procedures, and all other regulations, laws, and other guidance relevant to the position.
