About The Position

The Lead Registered Behavior Technician plays a dual role: delivering high-quality, evidence-based ABA services to children while also serving as the first line of support for fellow RBTs and Behavior Technicians. Grounded in the principles of ABA and a family-centered approach, this role improves the lives of children and families while strengthening the team that serves them. You will provide direct therapy and also help oversee onboarding, mentorship, training, and peer support within the department. In this role, you will have opportunities to work in: Outpatient Pediatric ABA Therapy – Provide direct and consultative ABA services tailored to each child’s goals. Community and Home Settings – Support skill generalization by delivering therapy in natural environments. Family Coaching and Collaboration – Empower families through training and education to reinforce progress at home. Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration – Partner with Occupational, Physical, Speech, and Feeding Therapists to ensure coordinated, holistic care. This position is ideal for an experienced RBT who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leadership, and is motivated to support both clients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB (required)
  • At least one year of experience working directly with children preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of ABA principles and behavioral intervention techniques
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain/maintain CPR, Safety-Care, and required clearances
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environment while effectively multitasking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and maintain all HIPAA requirements.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to learn the organization’s computer processing software and Electronic Medical Record software.
  • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Adequate knowledge of applied behavior analysis and behavioral intervention techniques.
  • Ability to publicly present information about Easterseals’ Autism and Behavioral services.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and software (MS Office Suite).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first level of support for direct care staff
  • Provide Behavioral Skills Training (BST) for new team members
  • Monitor fidelity of services under BCBA direction
  • Model best practices and provide constructive feedback
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative department culture
  • Support ongoing professional development and team cohesion
  • Provides direct ABA services to clients.
  • Serves as a first level of support for all direct care staff, ensuring productive relationships among team members.
  • Fosters and maintains a positive, inclusive, and cohesive culture within the department.
  • Encourages collaboration, professional development, and mentorship among staff.
  • Provides guidance, answers questions, and offers solutions to support day-to-day operations.
  • Addresses staff concerns and enhances communication within the department.
  • Contributes to the overall success and morale of the team by promoting a supportive work environment.
  • Monitors fidelity of ABA services and general practices through peer supervision under the direction of the BCBA.
  • Communicates feedback and improvement strategies (i.e., modeling, role play, etc.) with RBT following a fidelity check.
  • Plans, creates, implements, and delegates activities and training for the ABA Department.
  • Completes BST model training with new BTs as outlined in onboarding procedures.
  • Completes supplemental RBT training as BCBA/Apprentices and/or R/BTs requested.
  • Provides ongoing client-specific training secondary to BCBA/Apprentice’s initial training (including programming, procedures, implementation, and data collection) as directed by BCBA/Apprentice.
