About The Position

The position involves providing support in accordance with each person’s individualized service and behavior support plans, utilizing support skills for people with moderate to complex levels of need. The role includes implementing plans of protective oversight, as well as Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) and Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) for all individuals supported in a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment. The employee will demonstrate and model professionalism and all skills of Direct Support Professional/Registered Behavior Technician (DSP/RBT) with a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, regularly performing all direct care responsibilities as indicated in the DSP/RBT job description. The position requires consultation with program leadership, clinical staff, external consultants, community providers, and other direct support staff to ensure streamlined and top-quality care for individuals, as well as active participation in team meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within 60 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of Facility Manager Training within 30 days.
  • Completion of State of California Direct Support Professional Training (DSPT) Year 1 and Year 2 within one year.
  • Hold CPR/First Aid, Ukeru, and CPI certifications.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • One or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Knowledge of California’s Lanterman Act and Title 17 and 22 regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support according to individualized service and behavior support plans.
  • Implement Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) and Individualized Program Plans (IPPs).
  • Demonstrate professionalism and skills of Direct Support Professional/Registered Behavior Technician (DSP/RBT).
  • Consult with program leadership and clinical staff to ensure quality care.
  • Assist Program Administrator with oversight of residence and direct support staff.
  • Conduct ongoing observations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure DSP/RBTs engage in positive interactions as instructed by IPP/IBSP.
  • Assist with scheduling and complete daily shift reports.
  • Ensure new hires complete orientation and training.
  • Conduct weekly shift meetings with DSP/RBTs.
  • Perform daily documentation checks and ensure compliance.
  • Manage financial ledgers and inventory of supplies.
  • Complete incident reporting and notify necessary vendors.
  • Conduct drills and physical plant checks as Facility Manager.
  • Provide driver certification and training to DSP/RBTs.
