Lead Radiation Therapist
About The Position
Responsible for administering therapeutic radiation treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions to specific age groups. This position serves as a mentor by coaching, evaluating, counseling, and educating team members. This role provides direct daily supervision to radiation therapists and acts as the team leader in the absence of the site leader. In addition, this position ensures accurate delivery of radiation therapy while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Additionally, this role actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and fostering respectful relationships.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Electronic Health Records (HER) experience [Required]
Responsibilities
- Assesses patients' needs and resolves potential problems or conflicts, treating patients in a timely and courteous manner.
- Verifies the physicians prescription and treatment parameters daily to ensure accurate treatment in accordance with the prescription and treatment plan.
- Identifies the treatment volume and positions the patient consistently and reproducibly.
- Performs all aspects of CT Simulation, including administering contrast agents during simulation localization under the direction of the physician or non-physician practitioner.
- Evaluates prescribed imaging, makes requested changes within prescribed time period, and documents treatment information in the patient electronic health record (EHR).
