About The Position

The Lead QC Inspector is responsible for leading daily quality control activities while serving as the primary coordinator for inspections, testing, calibration, and escalation. This role requires strong hands-on technical capability, the ability to manage QC schedules and documentation, and a commitment to mentoring and developing QC staff. The Lead QC Inspector must be able to perform all inspection duties and will occasionally conduct inspections as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework or technical training preferred
Experience with quality control methods, inspection processes, and AQL sampling
Demonstrated ability to write clear SOPs and Work Instructions using Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and procedures
Ability to balance hands-on inspection work with coordination, documentation, and scheduling responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and guide QC staff

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate QC inspection activities including raw material, in-process, domestic finished goods, and import finished goods inspections
Apply AQL sampling, make final lot disposition decisions, and coordinate quality escalations
Make timely, risk-based decisions and escalate quality issues immediately when acceptance criteria, timelines, or compliance are at risk.
Coordinate and prioritize the QC inspection schedule across QC inspectors
Perform inspections as needed to support workload demands, training, investigations, or escalations
Coordinate and draft, maintain, and improve work instructions and QC procedures using Microsoft Word and Excel
Conduct and manage equipment calibration activities and maintain calibration records
Perform and oversee product performance and functional testing
Maintain accurate inspection, testing, and calibration documentation
Mentor and train QC inspectors; provide technical guidance and on-the-floor coaching
Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
