About the position
The Lead QC Technician will oversee quality control processes in the production of bread, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and quality assurance protocols. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced food production environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct line auditing for bread production and environmental monitoring.
- Perform air sampling and participate in monthly SQF audits.
- Calibrate and verify scales, monitors, and other basic instrumentation.
- Utilize MS Excel, Word, and Office for documentation practices.
- Monitor and verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process following GMP.
- Perform visual inspections, monitor product weights, codes, labeling, and other quality checks within two buildings.
- Maintain SQF documentation.
- Review and audit forms.
- Address food safety issues and customer complaints with the help of QA Supervisors.
- Monitor other QC Technicians and assist in hiring additional technicians.
- Perform other periodic tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Quality control experience within the Food and Beverage industry (2-5 years).
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field.
- 2-5 years of Food Safety experience.
- Experience in audit and inspection of production lines.
- Leadership experience or apparent leadership qualities.
Nice-to-haves
- HACCP or SQF Certification is a plus.
- Bilingual abilities.
- Experience with environmental monitoring, HACCP, SQF, production, and air sampling.
