This position leads a small team of project managers who are accountable for managing the development and execution of multiple capital projects through all assigned phases. The lead project manager also executes assigned capital projects. The Project Managers assemble and lead the required cross-functional team to achieve agreed cost, schedule, quality, operability, and safety objectives established for the projects. This position will work closely with various technical groups, operations, reliability, and maintenance personnel to scope, design, and execute capital projects across the Bayport Complex. The lead project manager will supervise 1 to 3 project managers and facilitate long-range planning with the site. This includes engaging with Project Sponsors on strategic objectives, performing quality reviews of project initiation forms, and obtaining estimates from the Regional Project Controls group. The role also involves managing the site project portfolio by making assignments to project managers, setting target completion dates, conducting biweekly project reviews, and managing unbudgeted projects. Additionally, the lead project manager will update monthly capital steering team slides and participate in presentations. The position requires performing and documenting phase gate reviews for all projects, ensuring adherence to the Project Management Process (PMP), and conducting independent gate assessments for projects valued at $5 million and above at other sites. The lead project manager will facilitate P3 FEL toolbox sessions for projects exceeding $5 million and execute projects consistent with approved project objectives, assuming accountability for overall health, safety, and environmental (HSE), cost, and schedule performance during development, execution, commissioning, and startup of projects. Furthermore, the lead project manager will lead the definition of projects, scope development, and front-end engineering in support of project objectives. This includes leading multi-discipline project teams, including company and contract personnel, in the resolution of technical and commercial issues. The role also involves developing and implementing a documented Project Execution Plan (PEP) that covers concept selection, project development, contracting strategies, execution, commissioning and startup, and post-project evaluation. The lead project manager will gather information and develop a thorough understanding of the project while providing strong leadership skills to lead a diverse cross-functional team. Finally, the lead project manager will prepare and present project updates to senior management while simultaneously managing multiple tasks and projects effectively.
