About The Position

We have an opportunity for a dynamic lead project manager supporting Advanced Manufacturing. The Advanced Manufacturing team develops and implements state of the art technology to improve production and enable digital connectivity throughout operations. You will scope projects, develop budgets, create, and execute project plans, and monitor performance in support of our Smart Factory transformation. You will identify project related problems and recommend solutions. The ideal candidate will understand product life cycle development processes and manufacturing process development. You will be able to effectively lead high performance teams consistent with Collins Aerospace corporate and Operations Core Values (the “How” of performance) . Experience with the practical application of Lean Principles and Six Sigma are highly valued.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous Program/Project management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable of aerospace or manufacturing processes, product, and quality requirements.  Experience with New Product Introductions is valued.
  • Proficiency applying Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and SAP or similar ERP system
  • PMP Certification is valued.
  • Self-directed; strong planning and organizational skills, able adapt to changing priorities and assignments while executing.
  • Strong peer leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own project plans, schedules, and budgets ensuring adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget.
  • Perform critical path analysis preparing and implementing work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Guides and communicates job schedule to all project team members and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct meetings, consolidate , and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s).
  • Monitors performance metrics of projects and develops corrective action plans to address gaps.
  • Record and document delays, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Promote the Collins Path and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Reviews and presents plans and progress reports relating to project strategy, progress, and results.
  • Travel up to 35%.
