About The Position

The Lead, Project Engineer is responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of software and hardware development, assembly, and integration and test efforts. This role involves successfully leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments. The engineer will develop, oversee, and coordinate the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer. Responsibilities include reviewing the status of engineering projects and budgets, managing schedules, driving execution, identifying opportunities, and delivering results through achieving payment milestones. The engineer will assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Additionally, the role requires identifying, tracking, mitigating, managing, and disposing of program-level risks and opportunities, estimating resource and material needs for the project/product, and providing coordination between resource managers/supervisors to ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received. The engineer must understand how to develop a schedule using Earned Value (EV) and manage a project using the Earned Value Indicators on a DCMA surveilled program. Participation in small teams and performing a wide variety of tasks to drive execution is also expected, along with the ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and regular contact with customers. A security clearance is required for this position.
