About The Position

Wildan Lighting & Electric, a division of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for our Maspeth, NY or Manhattan, NY office. The Lead Project Engineer will lead project development efforts in coordination with other team members and provide engineering support to the New York Power Authority (NYPA) LL88 projects and other energy efficiency program teams. This role involves ensuring proper and timely follow-up to complete requests, identifying and developing lighting system upgrade solutions, conducting QA/QC of lighting audits, preparing savings calculations, and managing projects to closure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in lighting system design and selection, energy savings analysis, energy auditing, and thorough understanding of the NYC energy code and LL88 requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (especially excel).
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

  • Lead project development efforts in coordination with other team members.
  • Provide engineering support to the New York Power Authority (NYPA) LL88 projects and other energy efficiency program teams.
  • Identify and develop lighting system upgrade solutions meeting the LL88, NYC Energy code, and NYPA product requirements.
  • Conduct QA/QC of the lighting audits conducted by the audit team.
  • Prepare savings calculations in spreadsheets meeting NYPA's submission requirements.
  • Process requests and work with teams to build future requirements for new tools and features.
  • Create and manage projects to closure, with timely, efficient and pleasant follow up.
  • Manage lighting measure catalogs and material lists for various suppliers and vendors.
  • Build rapport and provide details and feedback from the team.
  • Assist in communicating technical results to the client and team.
  • Strive to maintain project scope of work intent, schedule, performance and budget.
  • Research and assessment of new EE technologies.
  • Develop proposals to implement recommendations per NYPA's approved procedure.
  • Review photos or videos of the existing lighting systems to develop correct lighting upgrade solutions.
  • May be required to attend occasional audits and on-site inspections to improve audit quality.
