About The Position

You will report directly to Sr Software Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in our Aerospace business. Honeywell Aerospace Technologies (AT) products and services are found on virtually every commercial, defense, and space aircraft in the world. We build aircraft engines, cockpit and cabin electronics, wireless connectivity systems, mechanical components and more, and connect many of them via our high-speed Wi-Fi offerings. Requirements

  • US PERSON REQUIREMENT Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
  • YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating or executing safety‑critical embedded software development within aerospace or similarly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver software engineering work packages on schedule, within scope, and aligned with certification and program commitments.
  • Strong end‑to-end SDLC knowledge with the ability to use lifecycle insight to track progress, anticipate risks, and maintain disciplined execution.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating software‑related risks, requirement changes, integration challenges, and certification issues.
  • Solid working knowledge of DO‑178C , DAL expectations, traceability, and certification readiness for safety‑critical software.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, defect tracking, configuration control, and verification workflows used in embedded software development.
  • Hands‑on experience with engineering tools such as JIRA , DOORS NG , Bitbucket , and configuration management systems.
  • Strong business communication skills with the ability to present engineering status, risks, and data‑driven insights clearly to stakeholders and Sr leadership.
  • Working knowledge of software verification and validation practices, including test planning, execution, defect analysis, and closure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of safety‑critical embedded software development in alignment with DO‑178C and system safety requirements.
  • Define and control software scope, requirements, deliverables, and interfaces in coordination with systems, V&V, safety, and program teams.
  • Develop and maintain software engineering schedules, resource forecasts, and certification plans that reflect integration and verification dependencies.
  • Drive daily coordination across the software IPT to maintain execution flow, resolve blockers, and ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Monitor internal software KPIs and engineering performance trends, proactively identifying emerging risks, quality issues, or resource mismatches.
  • Analyze engineering data to detect patterns such as defect spikes, requirement churn, or over/under‑utilization, and escalate insights to CAMs/T4s with recommended actions.
  • Review key software artifacts to ensure compliance, traceability completeness, and readiness for certification audits and customer reviews.
  • Manage software risks, requirement changes, integration challenges, and certification issues, ensuring timely mitigation and closure.
  • Represent the software IPT in customer technical coordination meetings and internal leadership connects, providing clear, data‑driven status and risk visibility.
  • Partner with PMO and CAMs to support IMS updates, re‑baselines, EAC inputs, milestone readiness, and cross‑functional program actions.
