About The Position

This position is to support a Sr. Manager by supervising electrical engineering staff, and to be responsible for the team subset of project management and electrical engineering services. The position will involve coaching other engineers of their projects in their full scope from initial estimating, proposal submission, construction and start-up. The position will also be available to assist manufacturing plants with safety, quality, process optimization and productivity improvements. Major focus will be on projects related to the manufacturing plants. Team building, performance coaching, task delegation, and lead other project engineers. Develop project scopes; estimate equipment, installations, and engineering costs and prepare project schedules for Appropriation Requests. Complete and/or assist other engineers for all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule. Lead in design of and/or oversee preparation of construction drawings package for capital projects. Oversee field construction activities. Lead project start-ups. Specification and procurement of equipment and engineering and construction services. Work with existing facilities for maintenance, repair and improvement projects.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering, Allen-Bradley PLC programming, and iFix HMI, with at least 2-3 years in a lead or supervisor capacity.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and how to utilize a must.
  • Familiarity with how to design power and motor circuits is a must.
  • Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, and major power components and their specifications.
  • Knowledge of AC variable speed drives and their specifications a must
  • Knowledge of Motor Control Centers and their specifications a must
  • Ability to specify and set up field instrumentation
  • Ability to plan and coordinate a project from start to finish.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, networking architecture, setup and troubleshooting, loading software and drivers

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in wallboard or equivalent manufacturing plant and process a plus
  • Familiarity of electrical system coordination studies and how to interpret a plus.
  • Familiarity with ARC Flash requirements and NFPA-70 a plus
