The Lead Project Controls Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and guiding project execution at the project site. This role requires providing comprehensive planning and project controls leadership, working closely with the project team to ensure that project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics are achieved. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Lead Project Controls Specialist is a key member of the project leadership team and is responsible for fostering collaboration among stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes. Technical Acumen Collaborate with project teams to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Identify critical path activities, milestones, and dependencies, ensuring accurate project sequencing and timely completion of deliverables. Project Execution Monitor project costs and provide regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting any deviations from the budget and proposing strategies for cost optimization. Oversee the change control process to manage project scope changes, ensuring proper documentation and approval are in place. Financial Management Assist in preparing project budgets by analyzing cost estimates, resource requirements, and procurement plans. Evaluate the impact of change requests on project schedules, costs, and resources, and develop strategies for managing changes with minimal disruption. Critical Thinking Identify potential project risks and collaborate with project teams to develop effective risk mitigation strategies. Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, tracking identified risks throughout the project lifecycle, and implementing contingency plans as necessary. Quality Control Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess project progress, collecting and analyzing project data to provide actionable insights. Collaboration Work closely with project managers, field supervision, and other stakeholders to provide project controls support and guidance. Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, both verbally and in written reports, and facilitate project review meetings. Customer Focus Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards that communicate project performance, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
