Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical design for building systems, preferably in commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in applicable codes (NEC, NFPA) and design standards.
  • Proficiency in designing to Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) requirements.
  • Strong project management and client-facing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with renewable energy integration and advanced power systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Familiarity with BIM/Revit and other design software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering design for industrial and government facilities, including power distribution, emergency power systems, lighting, and life safety systems.
  • Provide high-level technical assistance and guidance for multi-phase projects from concept through construction.
  • Coordinate, review, and approve electrical design plans ensuring compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to develop drawings and specifications for architects, contractors, and building owners.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables, including permit applications and construction documentation.
  • Apply future-ready design strategies for energy efficiency and sustainability.
