WSP is currently looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer - Bridges to join our Transportation Group in Pittsburgh, PA office! This is an exciting opportunity to provide technical design for both small and large-scale projects. Your Impact Mid to Senior level position to perform professional structural engineering analysis and design of transportation structure, such as bridges and retaining walls. Managing structural engineers and leading discipline-specific tasks. Typical duties may include applying high-level structural techniques for various phases of projects including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, and construction; working as part of a team of engineers to design and check bridge superstructure and substructures; develop preliminary and final plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates; coordinate with other disciplines, subconsultants, and Clients; and utilize OpenBridge Software Coordinate, review and provide design plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, concepts, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address structural, design, and/or construction issues or opportunities. Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting. Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects. Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner Proactively collaborate with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local, and privately funded improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities. Remain current in latest structural engineering techniques and practices. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
