About The Position

SunOpta is looking for a Lead Production Maintenance Technician at our Midlothian Facility in Texas. This role is crucial for ensuring the day-to-day maintenance functions of the plant, supervising Production Technicians, and maintaining operational efficiencies. The Lead Technician will be responsible for safety, quality workmanship, and effective communication with Production Supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities. The position involves executing preventive maintenance programs and supporting the leadership team and employees at the site.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of related experience in Mechatronics or a food grade facility.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with aseptic processing.
• Experience with high-speed form/fill/seal packaging.
• Boiler License and/or Electrician's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Production Technicians on scheduled shifts.
• Coordinate maintenance workers by scheduling repairs and planning maintenance and installation activities.
• Coordinate maintenance activities on utility systems to ensure continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
• Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Identify training needs of shift personnel consistent with established operating procedures.
• Ensure safety in the workplace by eliminating unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Protect company assets by intervening in conditions resulting in equipment or building abuse.
• Execute the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance staff.
• Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
• Confer with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems.
• Participate in planning new installations and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems and assist maintenance staff in solving them.
