This role is 100% remote within the US The Opportunity We’re looking for a Lead Product Manager to own our renter conversion and marketplace monetization efforts. This role is laser-focused on turning engaged renters into signed leases and maximizing the value delivered to our property partners and our business. You will own the core conversion funnel—from property discovery and lead submission to lease signing—experimenting rapidly to drive significant improvements in key metrics like conversion rate to lease and Revenue Per User (RPU). This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where you’ll test bold ideas, run fast experiments, and deliver product-led revenue growth rooted in data, user empathy, and iterative learning. You’ll partner closely with engineering, design, and analytics to show renters the value of Apartment List and, critically, ensure our marketplace efficiently converts this demand into successful transactions for both renters and property partners.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally with a focus on marketplace dynamics, conversion optimization, monetization, and transactional funnels.
  • Self-starter, someone who doesn’t wait for someone to tell them what to do.
  • You’ve driven measurable impact through experimentation, testing, and iteration across bottom-of-funnel conversion surfaces.
  • You can write basic SQL queries pull your own data to guide decisions.
  • You can create Figma mocks or prototypes to move ideas forward without waiting on others.
  • You’re energized by ambiguity, motivated by revenue outcomes, and biased toward action.
  • You balance creative intuition with data-driven thinking, and know when to try scrappy vs. scale.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and collaborate fluidly with marketing, design, engineering, sales, and analytics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience optimizing conversion events within a two-sided marketplace is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the core conversion experience from initial property interest through to lease signing, building experiences that inspire intent, trust, and action.
  • Develop and rigorously test innovative strategies designed to dramatically increase lead-to-tour and lead-to-lease conversion rates. This includes meticulous crafting and optimizing strategies for personalized recommendations, tour scheduling, communication tools, and incentives that move renters down the funnel.
  • Lead experiments on messaging, and in-product nudges to drive key transactional actions and optimize conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate, guide, and strategize with the Sales and Partner Success teams on priorities to improve lead quality, partner satisfaction, and our pay-for-performance business model.
  • Use data to prioritize opportunities, size impact, and track performance across the monetization funnel.
  • Build prototypes and run experiments with your triad partners (design + engineering + analytics) to validate and ship quickly.
  • Use quantitative data to identify opportunities and qualitative data to validate and size opportunities.
  • Deliver measurable outcomes against conversion rate, lease signings, and Revenue Per User (RPU) KPIs.
