About The Position

GE Vernova is a global energy company focused on electrifying the world and decarbonizing it through its Wind business, which designs and manufactures advanced wind energy technologies. The Product Definition Engineer is crucial for bringing new wind blade designs to life by managing the detailed design and documentation of blade development projects. This role is responsible for delivering a complete design package for various functions and regions, ensuring designs are accurately developed, thoroughly documented, and successfully verified during production startup at the proto-build factory. The primary goal is to deliver high-quality design and documentation for new wind blades on time and with excellence. The position involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering, Process Engineering, Global Equipment Engineering, Plants, Quality, and Sourcing, to transform innovative blade concepts into production-ready solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design
  • Proven track record of leading the product definition phase for at least 1 full NPI (New Product Introduction) cycles, from conceptual design through to serial production
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in composite ply-stacking, layup definition
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex EBOMs (Engineering Bill of Materials) and MBOM containing 500+ line items, ensuring 100% accuracy in parts integration and downstream manufacturing handoffs
  • Proficiency in performing Stack-up Analysis and applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5 standards to ensure a 95% first-time yield during assembly
  • Proficiency in building the manufacturing and other product documentation needed for manufacturing the blades in a factory
  • Minimum of 2500 hours of advanced modeling experience in Siemens NX or CATIA specifically with surfacing and large assembly management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using PLM software (e.g., Teamcenter or Enovia) for version control, change management (ECR/ECN), and data integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Specifically focused on large-scale composite structures or turbine blade components will be advantage

Responsibilities

  • Creation of CAD models and drawings for the blade components and change in design implementation & management
  • Creation of manufacturing and quality documentation of the blade component/process
  • Stack-up analysis to achieve various design requirements
  • On-site support to ensure smooth start-up of testblade, prototype and 0-series production and supports in validation on the design and documentation during protobuild
  • Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
