About The Position

The Lead Procurement Specialist is responsible for medium and high critical materials, equipment, and subcontracts sourcing events. Expectation is “expert level” knowledge on procurement related processes and procedures. A Lead Procurement Specialist is expected to lead small groups and substitute in place of the Project Procurement Manager (PPM) performing and carrying out PPM related responsibilities. Additionally, a Lead Procurement Specialist should develop negotiating strategies, assign work, plus oversee and mentor lesser tenured peers; e.g. Procurement Coordinator I and II. The Lead Procurement Specialist is also responsible for sourcing activities for both estimating support on projects in the Deal Development phase and Procurement Execution activities during the life cycle of a project from RFP solicitation through the Award phase. The Lead Procurement Specialist must also be proficient in performing commercial analysis' of Bidders' proposals, writing and submitting recommendations of award and conducting Bidder conferences. Responsibilities also include engaging and maintaining Supplier relationships on awarded contracts, communicating with key internal and external stakeholders and maintaining overall transparency with the Project Management Team (PMT).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Ability to work independently and think ahead.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented and able to provide accurate work products.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Productivity tools (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience creating document templates and workflows in digital document approval platforms like DocuSign and Adobe Sign is beneficial.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or a diploma with equivalent working experience.
  • 5-7 years related industry experience preferred.
  • Preferred large industrial construction procurement experience.
  • Experience in multiple industrial market sectors.
  • Prior experience interfacing with client and engineering entities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing events for medium and high critical materials, equipment, and subcontracts.

  • Perform commercial analysis of bidders' proposals and write recommendations of award.
  • Conduct bidder conferences and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure transparency with the PMT.
  • Participate in procurement project management teams to support contract compliance.
  • Identify issues, propose solutions, and provide negotiation support.
  • Support contract administration and subcontract management.
