The Expeditor Lead is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all expediting activities, ensuring effective communication, maintenance, and updates of supplier delivery commitments as outlined in contracts and purchase orders. This role is crucial in optimizing supplier performance through thorough analysis of company data and consistent communication with expeditors and buyers. The Expeditor Lead collaborates closely with the Procurement Team to assess current and potential suppliers, recommending, planning, and coordinating solutions for any supplier performance issues that may hinder the delivery of quality products to CPI Aerostructures. Additionally, this position coordinates and dispatches field technical support and provides valuable input to supplier performance ratings and sourcing decisions, all in alignment with company directives and work instructions. Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the daily activities of the expediting team, ensuring that suppliers adhere to negotiated commitments via purchase orders. The Expeditor Lead communicates any changes to these commitments using CPI tools and reviews supplier performance metrics and critical items reports to identify trends. The ability to effectively analyze supplier performance issues and recommend corrective measures is essential. This role also involves monitoring and evaluating supplier performance, developing remedial action plans as necessary, and making recommendations to the Procurement Team to enhance supplier performance. Establishing and maintaining effective, positive working relationships with suppliers is a critical aspect of this position, along with applying knowledge of root cause analysis and manufacturing processes relevant to the aerospace and defense industry. The Expeditor Lead is also responsible for organizing and facilitating weekly material receipts meetings, tracking, and reporting receipts for the current quarter.
