We partner closely with design, operations, facilities, and manufacturing teams to deliver systems that are consistent, future‑ready, and built for world-class production. As the Gas Engineering Lead, you will serve as the single-threaded technical authority for gas systems across our U.S. semiconductor projects, including ID1, ID2 and our ground-breaking fab in New York. This role owns system performance and readiness from early concept through tool hook‑up and operational handoff. You’ll guide design partners, support construction teams, and champion safety and consistency while ensuring every system meets Micron’s technical, schedule, and quality expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years experience in the semiconductor industry
  • 10+ years experience with bulk and specialty gas systems
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multi‑disciplinary technical interfaces across design, construction, and operations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Micron gas system standards or engineering processes
  • 20+ years experience in semiconductor gas engineering
  • Leadership experience guiding engineering teams, vendors, or EPC partners

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for bulk and specialty gas systems, including design intent, performance criteria, and system-level decision making
  • Coordinate design development from concept through IFC, ensuring safety, constructability, and alignment with tool and OEM requirements
  • Support construction and installation readiness, including RFI resolution, submittal review, and field technical guidance
  • Define and approve commissioning, purge, leak testing, and system turnover strategies
  • Lead safety and compliance efforts, including hazard reviews and alignment to NFPA, SEMI, CGA, IBC, and IFC standards
