The Lead Press Operator is expected to support the Production Supervisor for the following, Tier 1 meetings, classroom setting training and onboarding training. They are an extension of the supervisor and do have the capability of assigning work to the employees within the department. In addition, they must be able to perform assigned operation of presses to ensure part is produced to specifications. Must be willing to learn auxiliary equipment and the use of basic measuring equipment. Must be able to understand and have conversations with support teams to start basic problem solving. In this role you will: • Support and at times, lead the Tier 1 production meeting • Be able to understand and respond to report boards and files • Define with or without the production supervisor the production plan and shift balancing • Suggest any training plan for team members • Record Basic problem-solving information for deeper analysis • Be accountable for the production results in your area • Participate in problem-solving root cause analysis • Ensure the knowledge and respect of standard at the press in your area (WRA, LPA, SPA, 5S…) • Be Capable of supporting training • Be able to communicate with the team members and support teams • Willing to partake in leadership training • Ability to review work instructions and suggest updates • Check and provide all process components like lubricants and packaging, etc. • Visually inspect production for burrs, scrapes, rust and other defects. • Identify and locate proper material thickness and gauge. • Check production against sample and/or print using basic measuring equipment like gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc. • Achieve Production Schedules • Comply with 5s
