About The Position

The position involves creating a nurturing and educational environment for students, focusing on their growth and exploration. The role requires effective supervision and interaction with children, ensuring that all activities are developmentally appropriate. The educator will be responsible for implementing a challenging curriculum and developing lesson plans that emphasize hands-on learning. Additionally, the position includes providing support to families and collaborating with a team of educators and volunteers.

Requirements

• BA in Early Childhood/ MS in Education is preferred
• New York State Certification in Early Childhood/study plan
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
• Strong communication skills
• Fluency in English required, bilingual in Russian preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, safe, and caring environment for students to grow, learn and explore.
• Effectively supervise, interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Implement developmentally appropriate and challenging educational curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans based on hands-on learning.
• Provide pedagogical support to families.
• Work in a team environment in partnership with teachers, teacher assistants, student teachers, substitutes and volunteers.
