About The Position

As a Lead Power Engineer a typical day might include: Maintaining a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor and control the power system. Developing papers on innovative power system protection solutions & present at conferences & seminars. Conceiving and developing concepts for new product ideas and enhancements. Lead efforts in providing power engineering support for customers & field application engineers. Serving as project technical lead. Modeling, teaching and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. Embracing the mindset: Understand. Create. Simplify. Other duties as assigned. This job might be for you if you have: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Typically 6+ years of experience in electric power systems, protection practices and philosophies. Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills. Experience leading a portion of a project. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. You may be a stronger fit for this position if you: Have working knowledge of SEL products. Have experience in power system modeling and using EMTP. Experience in MATLAB® and/or Python programming. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
