Our Union Plus Project Controls team is seeking experienced Lead Planning & Scheduling to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be responsible to Establish strategy and plan to develop detailed construction Project schedules by engaging various project teams, internal and external stakeholder groups. Development of the Union plus Program schedule with integration of various Project schedules and interfaces. Lead and drive the proper schedule progress measurement practice, forward looking schedule analysis and reporting. Demonstrate strong agility, adaptability, and accountability within collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of university degree in engineering, construction management or related technical field or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in the fields of Transit, Oil and Gas or Infrastructure projects for schedule management is required. Experience in LRT, Subway, Railway, Transit, and typical linear civil construction projects is an asset.
  • Expert in Primavera P6 is mandatory requirement. knowledge of TILOS is as asset.
  • Responsible for developing integrated program schedules across multiple projects, identifying and aligning interfaces with other projects, and regularly tracking schedule progress. Ensures cross-project coordination, stakeholder alignment, and timely reporting of schedule risks and impacts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project planning and scheduling along with an understanding of the principles and concepts of critical path analysis, crashing the schedule, what-if scenario development, development of recovery schedules & earned value analysis/management
  • Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing earned value methods for mega project during construction phase, Solid knowledge, and experience in change management.
  • Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills to liaise with project team members, external agencies, Contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the overall Program schedule, with integrating schedules from various projects, and coordination and alignment with other Program schedules by identifying and managing key interfaces & stakeholders.
  • Development of Program/Project construction schedule with coordination with contractor, construction work access and logistics, Operations, Third Party, and other MX departments/stakeholders for executing in field work package plans.
  • Analysis of Contractor’s schedule progress and performance, identify potential issues and problem areas, and provide reports to the project team. Review project activities to ensure accuracy, viability, feasibility, schedule dates, logics etc. (actual versus planned), and forecasting completion schedules based on a variety of information sources.
  • Lead monthly field construction progress reviews, validate and challenge progress report and schedule updates from vendor, sub-contractor and consultant.
  • Assist Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis by providing required scheduling data to Risk Management team to conduct schedule risk analysis.
  • Consults regularly with internal/external stakeholders and partners, throughout the project lifecycle to determine their needs, apprise them of project progress, identify potential risks and develop plans/strategies to resolve/mitigate risks.
  • Creates an environment of continuous improvement, opens channels of communication that invite suggestions and innovative thinking, and proactively seeks best practices for schedule management.
  • Provide guidance & direction to junior-level scheduler(s), Develop and maintain a positive working atmosphere
