About The Position

The Lead Planner works directly with Wealth Advisors to deliver financial planning services to clients and prospective clients. Typical plans include a balance sheet, cash flow analysis, net worth growth strategies, retirement planning, tax planning, insurance analysis, lending options, mortgage strategies, Social Security filing strategies, estate planning and long-term care analysis. The Lead Planner is client facing and is involved in data gathering, plan preparation, client service, attends planning meetings, and collaborates with Wealth Advisors, lenders, CPAs, attorneys, and insurance agents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in a business discipline
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation
  • Deep knowledge of primary financial planning concepts
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify and meet client needs, a naturally curious problem-solver
  • Balance between analytical and verbal skills
  • Obsessive attention to detail with relentless follow-through
  • Ability to write clearly, communicate succinctly, and present professionally
  • Must be a self-starter and achievement-oriented team player.

  • No disclosure events or violations on Form U4
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Work as a team with Wealth Advisors to gather, organize, and review client financial data
  • Input data into financial planning software, summarize and present initial findings
  • Work as a team with Wealth Advisors to execute the Financial Planning Process to include data gathering, analysis, recommendations, and the client experience.
  • Lead planning meetings (Discovery, Initial Analysis, and Plan Presentation), including managing material preparation, navigating planning software while presenting, and addressing client questions and concerns.
  • Prepare client deliverables.
  • Regularly consult with the Director of Financial Planning and present all data entry, initial findings, summaries, and deliverables for review and approval prior to dissemination to client.
  • Provide financial planning consulting to both clients and Wealth Advisors through financial planning education.
  • Support Wealth Advisors’ efforts to generate new business and pursue referrals with financial planning services.
  • Provide prompt, professional responses to client inquiries
  • Support ongoing client service and relationship-building efforts
  • Maintain accurate client records in CRM and planning software
  • Track outstanding tasks and ensure timely completion
  • Research, develop, implement, and document new processes and procedures
  • Participate in and lead training, team meetings, and continuing education
  • Stay current on financial planning concepts, tax rules, and industry trends
