Position Summary: American Fork Main Lab is seeking a Phlebotomy Lead to join our exceptional team at the American Fork clinic. We’re looking for someone who can balance a strong work ethic with a positive, team focused attitude while ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining our reputation for friendly, competent, and efficient patient centered service. This role oversees key aspects of specimen collection and processing, point of care testing, and communication with clinic and reference lab partners. The Phlebotomy Lead will also monitor patient wait times, manage fainting events, and address issues related to specimen collection and processing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS CPR certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
  • Experience in processing and collecting complex reference lab orders.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited medical vocational institution with a phlebotomy course diploma preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure proper collection, identification, labeling, and processing of samples.
  • Assist with training to ensure all new employees are thoroughly and effectively oriented to job responsibilities and expectations.
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure competency, accuracy, and efficient workflow.
  • Provide coaching and retraining as needed.
  • Manage supply levels and inventory, including providing supplies for offsite locations and ensuring timely routing of specimens to the American Fork lab.
  • Monitor workflow and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
