About The Position

Provide service based on physical, psychological, educational and related criteria appropriate to the age and type of patients/customers serviced in their area. Under administrative direction, the supervisor assumes responsibility for overseeing the operation of Phlebotomy Services at the Hospital and PSC sites with the goal of providing consistent, patient focused service to our patients. The supervisor is responsible for staff training and competency, problem resolution, and to ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained on a consistent basis. In conjunction with the Phlebotomy Manager, schedule staff to provide appropriate coverage for expected workflow. Serve as the primary conduit of information from Phlebotomy Management to employees and vice versa. Attend and participate in Corporate Phlebotomy Administrative Meetings.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in biological science or medical technology, business management, computer science or equivalent.
  • PBT(ASCP), MLT (ASCP), Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent; CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) for the Healthcare Provider from AHA.
  • 5 years of documented Phlebotomy experience required.
  • Recent experience in pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy required.
  • Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to diplomatically communicate policies, procedures and customer service expectations.
  • Must have experience with a variety of Lab and Hospital Information Systems or Electronic Medical Records.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Software.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues with patients and staff effectively.
  • Must demonstrate proven leadership skills and the ability to create and foster a strong team working environment.
  • Must demonstrate technical competency in phlebotomy collection procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior personnel management experience strongly preferred.
