About The Position

Assumes responsibility for the assigned phlebotomy shift and serves as a resource to other phlebotomists. Performs venipuncture, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing. Documents specimen collection and accessions specimens in the computer system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 0 - 6 month(s) related experience inclusive of on the job or classroom training in phlebotomy
• Basic PC Skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Ability to draw blood specimens

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the assigned phlebotomy shift and serves as a resource to other phlebotomists on duty.
• Collects patient specimens competently and accurately.
• Performs phlebotomy collections in a timely manner.
• Documents collection and processes specimens efficiently.
