Lead Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated duties, tasks and functions associated with the provision of pharmacy services within the hospital.
• Assist in supervising the activities of the pharmacy department's team of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Assist in the maintenance of the pharmacy's operations.
• Actively perform all pharmacy technician functions and maintain active proficiency in operational programs, dispensing and compounding systems, hospital computer systems, and medication ordering systems.
• Lead technician services by managing Central Pharmacy, Sterile Compounding, Non-Sterile Compounding, Repacking/Delivery, Controlled Substances, Hazardous Medication, and Quality Assurance & Sampling.
• Provide patient-centered care services.
• Collaborate with other pharmacy staff and care providers to optimize and improve services.
• Participate in departmental meetings and educational activities.

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent and 3 years experience.
• PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
• Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation.
• Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare.
• Leadership experience.
• Practice experience in an integrated health care system of three or more hospitals in the system.
• Data Analysis experience.
