About The Position
Pharmacist ensures the safe effective and financially responsible use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services in the Medical Center. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs. Requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools through extensive work experience and require vocational or technical education. Works under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations. Trains, delegates and reviews the work of lower-level employees. Problems typically are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D required
- Experience: No experience required
- Licensure/Certifications: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Education: Pharm.D from an ACPE accredited college of Pharmacy
- Experience: Previous leadership experience, Previous experience in ambulatory or specialty pharmacy settings preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
