About The Position

The Lead Personal Care Attendant (Lead PCA) will assist the Home Care Coordinator (HCC) in overseeing the team of homecare PCA’s, with the goal of ensuring high quality care delivery to all participants. The Lead PCA will serve as a role model, mentor, and point of contact for PCAs, ensuring compliance with care plans, best practice guidelines, safety protocols, and organizational standards. This role combines direct participant care with leadership responsibilities and administrative tasks as assigned by the HCC.

Requirements

Valid driver's license
1 year experience working with the frail or elderly population.
BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
Must complete and pass the Jordan Valley Senior Care approved curriculum for Personal Care Aides upon hire.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current valid PCA, HHA, or CNA license.
Minimum 6 months of clinical experience as a PCA, CNA, or EMT.
Supervisory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides personal care and escort assistance in accordance with individual treatment plans – including peri-care, grooming, dressing, showering, bathing, toileting, feeding, ambulation.
Reports observed changes in participants’ conditions to Center Manager and/or other center-based clinical staff.
Proactively communicates participant health and safety concerns to Center Manager and/or other program staff.
Demonstrates safe practices utilizing proper body mechanics and complying with universal precautions.
Interacts in friendly, courteous, and professional manner with participants and their families/caregivers.
Participates in social and recreation activities with participants as appropriate.
Implements interventions, as appropriate to training, as directed by rehabilitation staff, including use of mechanical assistance for participant transfers and mobility.
Occasionally accompanies participants to outside clinical appointments, when necessary.
Assist with food service delivery and monitoring during mealtimes.
Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the Clinic’s overall mission.
Responsibly follows the Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Promotes the education and development of students, interns, residents, apprentices, and other new staff by sharing expertise, responding to questions, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
All other duties as assigned.
