About The Position

The Lead Person in the Liquid Department at Michael Foods, Inc. is responsible for directing the activities of employees engaged in the manufacture of liquid egg products. This role involves developing work schedules, coordinating training for new hires, and ensuring effective communication across shifts and departments. The Lead Person also performs quality checks, maintains safety and quality standards, and may assume the responsibilities of the Processing Supervisor when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills before groups and with customers/vendors.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of Liquid Department employees engaged in the manufacture of liquid egg products.
  • Develop work schedules and assignments to meet production goals.
  • Coordinate on-the-job training activities for new hires and transferred employees.
  • Provide relief to other liquid Lead Persons and the Processing Supervisor.
  • Perform daily and weekly start-up and shutdown procedures for Breaking, Pasteurizing, mixing, and liquid packing.
  • Ensure proper communication between floors, departments, and shifts.
  • Perform weight/quality checks and enter data in SAP.
  • Confer with the Processing Supervisor to resolve employee problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment and assist maintenance in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Adhere to safe work practices and follow GMP and HACCP guidelines.
