About The Position

Provides exquisite customer service to AHS patients and families by promptly, professionally, and accurately responding to patient and payer inquiries and requests. Supports the customer-focused revenue cycle process by conducting audits and providing targeted employee training based on needs identified by audits, PFS team or leadership, bill edits, AhiQa data, or feedback from patients/families and internal customers.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Fully knowledgeable of and conducts all activities in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA rules and regulations, Medicare Secondary Payer Screening requirements, medical necessity screening and ABN rules, Red Flag Rules, and billing and coding compliance rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AHS managed care payer rules.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to hospital billing software, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • AAHAM or HFMA certification, or active pursuit of certification, preferred.
  • Previous hospital billing experience and demonstrated knowledge of third-party billing procedures, claim review, and analysis strongly preferred.
