The Lead Patient Services Coordinator plays a key role in launching and supporting the new Cancer Institute ambulatory clinic at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. This position provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to front-line patient services staff while ensuring a welcoming, seamless experience for patients and families. The Lead PSC partners closely with clinical and administrative teams to support clinic operations, optimize scheduling and workflows, and uphold the highest standards of service in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Job Summary Summary Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of clinical practice, providing leadership to the clinic team, and enhancing patient care delivery. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication skills who can effectively manage administrative tasks while supervising support staff.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes
  • 3-5 years experience working in a healthcare setting required
  • 2-3 years experience in a leadership or supervisory role required
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, billing, and coding processes.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor clinic support staff, including administrative and clinical assistants.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Implement and maintain clinic policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in training new staff and providing ongoing education for existing staff.
  • Manage patient inquiries, concerns, and feedback to ensure satisfaction and compliance with standards.
