About The Position

This position interacts closely with patients, families, providers and the multidisciplinary teams in a highly organized and professional manner. The Patient Access Services Rep Lead (PAS) ensures the exceptional patient experience is achieved by displaying effective customer service, problem solving and communication skills in a friendly, thoughtful empathetic manner. The PAS Rep Lead is responsible for completing the registration process which includes scheduling and registration activities including insurance eligibility and point of service collections. Individuals in this role are expected to demonstrate behaviors that create a welcoming environment and must be able to articulate information in a manner that ensures patients and family members have clear expectations of their visit and understand their responsibilities. In addition to the above, the Lead is a contact and mentor for the team, answering questions, assisting with staffing and work assignments, on-call rotation, quality audits and more. Monday- Friday 11am-730pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months Patient Access or Revenue Cycle experience

Nice To Haves

  • Post-Secondary Education
  • 1 year minimum Patient Access or Revenue Cycle experience within Fairview

Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduling and registration support for patients.
  • Provide interaction, wayfinding and screening to patients and visitors.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience to patients, families and other customers through consistently demonstrating Fairview behaviors through all interactions with our patients.
  • Interact with patients and families in unusual and unexpected situations that may require de-escalation skills.
  • Manage daily worklists and resolve assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Obtain and documentation of required consents and regulatory documents.
  • Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently demonstrate the Fairview Commitments related to Respect to People and Continuous Improvement.
  • Protect patient privacy and only accesses information as needed to perform job duties.
  • Complete verification of insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Support price transparency by explaining patient out of pocket expenses and collecting co-pay, deductible and/or co-insurance amounts.
  • Complete financial screening
  • Mentor and train new staff.
  • Serve as first level support for peers.
  • May assist leadership with work assignments and staffing.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation requiring availability outside of regular business hours.
  • Complete quality audits
  • Assist leadership team as needed with other tasks as assigned.
