About The Position

Adventist Health Mendocino Coast is seeking a Lead Patient Access Representative for a full-time, day shift position in Fort Bragg, CA. This role involves coordinating the day-to-day activities and management of patient and outpatient access services, including pre-registration, registration, admissions, payment collection, and other related functions. The Lead Patient Access Representative is responsible for communication systems within departments and provides guidance to staff within established work area and policies. The position requires judgment in resolving difficult issues and making recommendations, and involves working with sensitive and confidential information, often interpreting policies and procedures. Adventist Health Mendocino Coast is a 25-bed critical access hospital that has been serving the community on the coast since 1971, offering a range of services. The Mendocino Coast is known for its natural beauty, including redwoods, glass bottom beaches, and oceanfront botanical gardens, offering many outdoor adventures.

Requirements

  • All associates receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
  • Five years' relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to medical staff and patients, paying close attention to HIPAA compliance and information related to employees and other information as appropriate.
  • Provide feedback to peers when errors or omissions are found on accounts so deficiencies can be remedied while patient still present.
  • Review AETS reports and correct errors.
  • Works with Quality/Education group as needed to trend/track accuracy and training needs.
  • Interact in a positive way with all departments to resolve issues and to develop and maintain positive intra-departmental and inter-departmental working relationships.
  • Follow all organizational and department-defined policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
