Serves as the lead resource to the Preregistration or Precertification staff within the Patient Access departments. Supports the Manager of the area to ensure the staff is receiving the proper resources and training to meet both departmental and individual productivity and quality goals. Assists with new staff training/orientation and ongoing staff development. In addition, the lead is responsible for assisting staff in solving complex insurance coverage and authorization issues. Ensures timely and accurate completion of assignments and tasks that are delegated. The lead also works at staff level when work demands and is responsible to ensure that all patients are correctly and efficiently registered for hospital services. Verifies patient insurance coverage and benefits. Obtains necessary insurance authorizations for hospital and physician services. The lead representative handles escalations or calls from physicians, employees, office staff, patients or family. Your Tomorrow is Here!
