About The Position

Church of the Cross in Fort Myers, FL is seeking their next Lead Pastor to preach the Word of God, make disciples and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. We are praying for a man who models a strong walk with Christ, has a clear calling to pastoral ministry and who will lead our congregation with character and integrity by lifting up Jesus and loving others. We are predominantly a 55+ church although we have started growing younger. We are averaging approximately 75- 80 people in our weekend service in the summer months and 120 during the Winter when seasonal attenders return. 50% of the people living in our zip code are retirees. Our church is made up of people from all different faith journeys such as Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Catholic, Assembly of God and others with no previous church history. They are a loving, friendly, serving and giving group of people. Our church has a Thrift Store and the profits are given away to area ministries, helping in many benevolent ways the less fortunate and donating to various projects around the church. Church of the Cross is located on Daniel’s Parkway, one of the most traveled thoroughfares in the Southeast part of town. We are approximately 2 miles from I-75, 13 miles from Fort Myers Beach and 7 miles from Southwest Florida International Airport. We are blessed to have a debt free 8.5 acre campus (estimated value of $20 million) with 4 separate structures. A Worship Center that seats over 250 people, a Chapel seating over 100 people, a Thrift Store and a modern 2-story Community Center with 4 equipped offices, elevator, 5 classrooms, a full gymnasium, storage areas and kitchen. Requirements

• Between 35 and 60 years of age
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree (or higher) a plus
• Shepherd, Preacher, Teacher, Relational, Creative Visionary
• 5 to 10 years of a growing church
• Strong Biblical knowledge/references, Application to everyday life, Spiritual nourishment, Humor, Personal and/or Real-life illustrations
• We would desire the pastor’s spouse to serve in areas where she is gifted. And to be a visible and vocal supporter of her spouse and the church.
