About The Position

CFS Brands is seeking to hire a Lead Packer to join our facility in Batavia, IL. The Lead Packer will be responsible for executing production plans in a safe manner with a focus on quality to deliver products on time, including assembly, equipment operations, manufacturing processes, handling, and packing. The Lead Packer assigns Packers to the lines and coordinates breaks, working closely with shift leaders and quality leaders to ensure process changes or instructions are communicated effectively and clearly.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous lead experience preferred; or a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience required
• Experience resolving problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully and developing alternative solutions
• Experience motivating others to perform effectively and influencing good workmanship to achieve work goals
• Experienced with working in a team environment, listening to problems and using good reasoning even when dealing with emotional topics

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of the line and will report any problems or concerns to the shift leader
• During changeovers—coordinates reassignments and/or breaks, repack clean up etc.
• Motivates others to perform effectively and influences good workmanship to achieve work goals
• Perform in line packer duties
• Identifies and resolves problem in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and develops alternative solutions
• Makes self-available to staff; provide regular performance feedback, encourages growth, and continuously works to achieve supervisory skills
• Initiates or suggests quality improvement ideas
• Able to foresee any safety problems and promptly report issues
• Assist packer trainer in assessing the strengths and weaknesses of all new packers to develop knowledge and skills
• Comply with all GMP requirements and adhere to all CFS safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
