Responsibilities

  • Emphasize policy, procedures, and culture consistent with the Shift Supervisor’s direction that control and improve production yield and efficiency of facility against standard.
  • Ensure safety, leadership, cleanliness, food safety and quality, adherence to SOP’s, employee ownership and understanding of product and process, and overall teambuilding.
  • Continuously take independent action, perform the daily paperwork, and provide corrective action recommendations to the Production Manager.
  • Maintain area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Enforce company rules in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Report broken or inoperable equipment to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Report unsafe equipment or areas to the Shift Supervisor and take immediate corrective action if warranted.
  • Start the lines on time and effect changeovers in a timely fashion.
  • Schedule labor for full time and agency employees.
  • Work with the temporary labor provider to fill daily shortages.
  • Report time and attendance infractions to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Maintain strong interdepartmental communication that facilitates goals.
  • Report recommended changes to written production standards/specifications to reflect actual process to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety requirements and procedures.
  • Responsible for food safety and quality.
  • Verify throughout the shift adherence to the written production specifications and formulas, efficiency, yield, and compliance of in-process documents.
  • Develop subordinates' ability to understand, manage, and affect the department positively by ensuring that all employees have been trained in required areas.
