Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum 6-8 years equivalent work-related experience in Oracle PL/SQL development
Minimum 6-8 years equivalent work-related experience in SQL debugging and tuning tools and techniques
Thorough understanding of Oracle database objects and their purposes/uses
Thorough understanding of the Oracle database environment characteristics and workings
Ability to support and interact with Oracle DBA during development, deliveries and client troubleshooting
Ability to act as primary database development SME and collaborate with top and mid-tier development teams
Experience with modern source control tools such as GitHub.
Understanding of modern software design and development methodologies
Experience with the full software development life cycle
Ability to determine root cause of end user reported issues/concerns and provide solutions to mitigate.
Ability to be proactive, exercise appropriate judgement, and the ability to successfully meet mission-critical delivery deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities as the business dictates.
A passion for continuous learning as well as the ability to learn quickly and adopt and apply new technologies and skills.
Identify opportunities for improvement in current processes.
A team player who collaborates well with others, both inside and across all related SS&C and client teams.
Strong written and oral communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel and clients
Ability to work independently when project scale dictates.
Willingness to work outside of the normal business schedule to meet critical client deliveries and when confronted with production events.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of/experience in Financial Services Industry
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL development
Application development experience with Java, C#, XML, Unix shell scripting

Responsibilities

A Database Developer will design, develop and implement documented as well as verbal functional specifications.
This person will develop and provide support for applications deployed in the private cloud/network and at remote client sites.
Candidates will demonstrate problem-solving skills, readiness to collaborate with internal teams, including development and business teams, and an ability to design solution fixes and either implement them or collaborate on the implementation.
Successful candidates should possess strong technical skills, a willingness to embrace new technologies, a passion for client service and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
