About The Position

This is a hands-on “Lead Position” directing a crew of 4 to 6 people to meet Production, Safety, Maintenance, and Quality Objectives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable ability to lead and direct employees to meet Fab-Tech production expectations in this work area including work instruction tasks, maintenance tasks, and special projects.
  • Ability to read and write Basic English.
  • Can speak and understand Basic English with an emphasis on accurately communicating tasks and objectives.
  • Ability to read cut sheets and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to use measurement tools of the area.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written technical procedures and customer order sheets as well as follow verbal instruction.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills to include decimals, fractions, and conversions.
  • Measurement skills to include tape measure, sheet metal gauge, and dial calipers.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and suggest solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately follows directions in a timely manner.
  • Organize product per priority using lean methodology to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Communicate with scheduling personnel to meet fast track jobs.
  • Train staff to meet work instruction and quality objectives.
  • Ensure product matches with the customer order sheets.
  • Comply with health, safety (including OSHA), and environmental procedures.
  • Continue to learn and expand one’s own capacity within this job by increasing knowledge and skill base.
  • Mentor employees and assist them with professional development.
  • Foster and promote a team environment that embraces diversity and inclusion.
  • Perform various other assignments per lead person or supervisor direction.
  • Manages crew of 4 to 6 employees.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this group.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
