About The Position

The Lead Operator is responsible for overseeing shift activities in the production area to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders. This role involves leading a team, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational guidelines. The Lead Operator also plays a crucial role in training personnel and maintaining high efficiency on manufacturing lines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Associate's Degree in Industrial or Electrical Maintenance Technology preferred or 5 - 7 years' experience with Vocational Training Program or Military equivalent.
  • Ability to lead a team safely and follow regulatory and company policies.
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in reporting.
  • Clear and decisive communication skills with team members and next shift.
  • Background with leadership experience in technical fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the shift with administrative input and technical assistance.
  • Generate work orders to reflect production planning.
  • Print labels when needed.
  • Issue materials to production orders and report operations as needed.
  • Plan and allocate resources to the manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure all manufacturing lines have the necessary supplies and resources for optimal efficiency.
  • Ensure proper training for all machine operators and utilize trainers as needed.
  • Coordinate communication between Quality Control and the production area.
  • Update the supervisor on activities throughout the shift.
  • Assist Production Technician/Operator to maintain the highest possible Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on the lines.
  • Fill in for operators during lunch and break times, including moving crates and adjusting equipment.
  • Record production results at the end of the shift and update Tier 2 boards/graphs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Fire Safety, EPA, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company operations, personnel, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
