About The Position

The Operations Project Engineer (OPE) is the technical bridge between Operations and Design Engineering whose charter is to solve Design/Manufacturing/Test issues that have Business level significance to reduce manufacturing/test risk and improve on-time delivery. The OPE accomplishes this through 2 primary avenues. The 1st is to assist in the design, development, & transition to production of new hardware. This is primarily accomplished by assessing design and manufacturing risk, capability/capacity analysis, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA) or Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and participating in prototype and/or pilot line production. The 2nd is to provide life cycle engineering support to Products/Programs via improved manufacturability, increased yields, rework reduction, DMS and obsolescence mitigation, and/or new capability/technology introduction.
