About The Position

As a Lead Onshore Electrical Designer, you will lead a team of designers on projects. In this position, you will be responsible for executing projects with minimal supervision. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of applicable codes, good design practices, and basic design fundamentals to lead projects. You will be expected to have an understanding of project execution and will report to the department manager.

Requirements

• 8+ years of applicable onshore lead design experience
• Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology or related field
• Experience and proficiency in software tools such as E3D/PDMS and AutoCAD
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Knowledge of NEC, API RP 14F, and API RP 500 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead onshore design concepts on the project.
• Review and maintain electrical One-Lines.
• Review and maintain electrical equipment within a 3D model using E3D/PDMS or CADWorx.
• Prepare location plans, wiring diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules.
• Assign or create installation details.
• Coordinate design efforts with the lead engineer, instrumentation discipline, and structural discipline.
• Conduct field verification of the project scope.
• Review vendor documents to ensure specifications and project requirements are met.
• Review mechanical equipment packages.
• Gather and distribute information with the electrical team and other project disciplines.
• Verify the design throughout all design deliverables.
• Manage electrical scope changes.
• Prepare material total installed cost estimates.
• Approve the electrical design deliverables for the project.
• Mentor younger designers.
