Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff.

  • Performs job tasks as outlined by primary discipline.
  • Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
  • Assists with developing and implements and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
  • Serves as a positive role model and consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
  • Assists with non-patient care tasks are managed each day, including scheduling, productivity, and other.
  • Demonstrates leadership and professional development.
  • Participates in the coordination of orientation programs, preceptor development, annual skills assessments, and simulations.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience required
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or related field as determined by the organization required upon hire
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) AND RCP - Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Kentucky AND BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position
